Dragon*Con 2012

TARDIS dress complete! I wore it at Dragon*Con 2012 and really enjoyed it. Post to come this week on how I created my TARDIS headpiece that actually lit up!

Here are a few more, on left with my friend as a weeping angel and on right, me with a actual TARDIS.

  1. Hi,

Looks amazing – making one for my daughter. Quick question, how did you do the white square with the writing (Police Box, Free for public…….) Thanks you

    • Thanks! The Police Box Signage was done using iron-on transfer paper I got at Michael’s Craft Store. You just find a high-resolution photo of the Police Box Sign, print it out on the transfer paper using your home printer, then iron it onto white fabric and peel off! Viola! Just remember to print it out mirror imaged so that when you turn it over to iron it on it will come out readable. The instructions that come with the paper explain this more. Good Luck! I’m sure your daughter will look awesome!

    • I would love to help, but I made the dress without a pattern. You can try finding a pattern that is similar and adjusting it. I used a dress I own as a basis for the top and the bottom is a simple circle skirt. Sorry I can’t help more. Best of luck!

  2. I love this dress!! it would be a perfect maid of honor dress!! My bridesmaid is helping me make be wedding dress, I’d feel bad asking her to make this too. I’m awful with a sewing machine. any suggestions as to how I can get a dress like this for my doctor who wedding? :) Thanks!!

    • Thanks so much! I would recommend Etsy, there are a lot of seamstresses that do custom orders on there. You could convo with one and see if you could find someone willing to do a custom dress for you. Good Luck and Congrats! A Dr.Who wedding will be amazing!!
